What:    an introductory seminar on Using Internet Tools in TESL

Where:  Biysk Teacher Training State University, room 303

When:    November 7, 2007 at 1-2.30 pm

 

 

 

Participants

Teachers of English from Biysk and Biysk neighborhoods

50 participants have already signed up (it is November 2)

 

 

 

Aims

1) inform about Internet resouses available

2) stimulate the participants to use these tools

3) interest the audience in expanding their knowledge in the field of technology in the classroom and encourage organization of more workshops

 

 

Expected Results

1) the participants use at least one of the discussed tools and share their experience at our forum and/or wiki

2) the authorities realize the importance of such knowledge and decide to support more workshops

1. Using the Internet for searching information

 

     1) Searching for various information

a) on-line dicstionaries and encyclopedias

b) search-engines and basic searching techniques

c) examples of tasks connected with this Internet function

 

     2) Searching for ready lesson plans

 

2. Unsing modern functions of the Internet - Web 2.0 tools

a) blogs

b) animation

c) puzzlemaker
